Synopsis The cocoa industry is facing scrutiny for its environmental and social impact, prompting a demand for more sustainable and ethical practices to address the well-being of farmers and workers involved in the cocoa supply chain. The cocoa supply chain involves multiple stakeholders and navigating it can be challenging due to the increasing demand for sustainable cocoa production and regulations like the EU Deforestation Regulation.In response, CAA will launch the inaugural Farmers Network Forum, gathering diverse farmers from origin countries in this plenary to discuss better sustainable practices expected from both customers and consumers. The plenary will delve into the intricate cocoa supply chain, share best practices, emphasizing the importance of understanding sustainability needs and complying with regulations for producing sustainable and compliant products. They will also discuss the challenges that farmers face while trying to meet sustainability standards, and provide practical advice on how to overcome these obstacles.Following the plenary, the panel will discuss the complex challenges facing the cocoa supply chain, influenced by factors like the EU Deforestation Regulation. An understanding of sustainability needs and compliance with policies can help companies ensure sustainable and compliant products. |
